A Simple Guide to the NDIS Price Guide for Support Providers
🧾 What is the NDIS Price Guide?
The NDIS price guide, officially called the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (PAPL), tells providers:
– How much they can charge
– What services they can claim for
– Which rules apply (like travel costs, cancellation fees, and therapy loadings)
📢 Key Updates for 2026–27
The NDIA has made some important changes this year. Here’s what you need to know:
The NDIS is entering another important phase of reform, with several changes taking effect from 1 July 2026 that will impact providers, plan managers and participants. The focus is clear, stronger safeguards, increased accountability, greater transparency and improved participant outcomes.
🔹 Mandatory registration expands for SIL and digital platform providers.
All new Supported Independent Living (SIL) providers and NDIS digital platform providers must be registered with the NDIS Commission from 1 July 2026. Existing unregistered SIL providers must apply by 1 October 2026 or cease delivering SIL supports. Providers must meet quality, worker screening and regulatory requirements.
🔹 New SIL claiming and payment requirements.
A new claiming code, 0138 Assistance with Supported Independent Living, applies to SIL supports delivered from 1 July 2026. Plan managers can only pay SIL invoices where providers are registered or have applied for registration. Providers that fail to apply by 1 October 2026 can only claim for services delivered up to 30 September 2026.
🔹 Stronger oversight of NDIS “cleanskin” provider sales.
Providers must notify the NDIS Commission of ownership changes, with extra audits for significant governance or operational changes. The aim is to ensure participants receive supports from organisations that demonstrate genuine capability and quality.
🔹 Greater flexibility for participants in shared accommodation.
Programs of Support can now be used for daily Personal Activities in shared accommodation, giving participants more flexibility. Participants can also leave a Program of Support at any time, at no cost, by providing up to two weeks notice, reinforcing choice and control.
🔹 A renewed NDIA Board to support the future of the NDIS.
The Australian Government has announced new and returning appointments to the NDIA Board, bringing expertise across disability, governance, public administration and human services.
The goal is stronger protections, better supports, greater transparency, and continued participant choice and control.
